A mild month of wind and rain with only a few dry sunny days.

SIGHTINGS
Birds (seen or heard): Common Gulls, Black-headed Gulls, Heron, Carrion Crows, Sparrowhawk, Magpies, Jays, Buzzards, Tawny Owls, Wood Pigeons, Stock Doves, Nuthatch, Treecreepers, Green/Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Robins, Blackbirds, Song Thrush, Dunnocks, Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Chaffinches, Siskins, Stonechats, Wrens, Coal/blue/great/Long-tailed Tits.
Insects: Midges, Woodlice, Garden Spider.
Mammals: Roe Deer, Grey Squirrels, Fox, Hedgehogs.
Dragonfly/Damselfly: Broad Bodied Chaser, Small Red.
Butterflies/Moths: Large White, Speckled Wood, Peacock.
Plants (in flower/berry): Holly berries, Rowan berries, Ivy seed heads, Sundews, Cut-leaved Geranium, Marsh Gentians.
Fungi: Sulphur Tuft, Snowy Inkcap, Scaly Rustgill, Fragrant Funnel, King Bolete, Fly Agaric, Cowpat Gem, Conifer Tuft, Brown Rollrim, Common Rust Gill, Brick Cap, Common Ballaria, Bay Bolete, Bovine Bolete, Variable Oysterling, Douglas Fir Cone Mushroom, Spotted Toughshank.
Pond Life: Whirlygig Beetles, Pond Skaters.

Fungi started to appear with the mild wet weather.

NATURE FACT
The Brown Rollrim fungi grows on acid soil in mixed and broad-leaved woodland, where birch and conifer grow, and also on heathland. They are poisonous.
